SN 2002ds

The host galaxy of SN 2002ds is an inclined barred-spiral galaxy ESO 581-G25, somewhat affected by the Galactic extinction. The position of the SN is about 68" east and 7" south of the nucleus. The expected maximum for typical SN Ia is mag about 14.5 (vsnet-campaign-sn 447). The spectrum of SN 2002ds was taken on June 28.0, from which the UCB team revealed that it was of young type-II event (vsnet-campaign-sn 448).
