Dear SN watchers, In [vsnet-campaign-sn 447]; ># The host galaxy of SN 2002ds is an inclined barred-spiral (SBd pec ># sp) galaxy ESO 581-G25, somewhat affected by the Galactic ># extinction. The position of SN is R.A. = 15h13m35s.73, Decl. = ># -20o40'38".5 (2000.0), which is about 68" east and 7" south of the ># nucleus (it has complex structure) of ESO 581-G25. It is located at ># well outside of the main disk. There are several foreground stars ># around this galaxy, including a bright (mag 15:) star superimposed ># on the western disk. The expected maximum for typical SN Ia is mag ># about 14.5. The spectrum of SN 2002ds was taken at Las Campanas on June 28.0, from which the UCB team revealed that it is of young type-II event (IAUC 7829).
