Dear colleagues! I would like to send you observations of a new variable star (BeV54), which I have discovered in a systematic CCD-based search for new variables. In each observing run typically 400 images are taken of several survey fields. The frames are processed automatically. Instruments: CCD-camera:Starlight Xpress SX (unfiltered) Telescope: Celestron-8 (20 cm Schmidt-Cassegrain) New variable star: new BeV54 192157.3 +035554.9 (J2000) 12.4 12.9 (CCD) SR comments: BeV54: GSC 472 1560 Comparison star was for all measurements GSC 472 2308 (11.8 mag), which was checked to be constant. The apparently slow change in brightness and the red colour (USNO A2.0 r:12.8 mag, b:16.4 mag) suggest a SR-variable. object YYMMDD(UT) mag (CCD) code BeV54 000706.9937 12.86 BRH.BAV BeV54 000717.9701 12.84 BRH.BAV BeV54 000722.9784 12.51 BRH.BAV BeV54 000731.9673 12.42 BRH.BAV BeV54 000801.9625 12.50 BRH.BAV BeV54 000809.9770 12.55 BRH.BAV BeV54 000811.9416 12.56 BRH.BAV BeV54 000819.9340 12.64 BRH.BAV BeV54 000820.9368 12.75 BRH.BAV Regards, Klaus Bernhard Klaus Bernhard Kafkaweg 5 A-4030 LINZ AUSTRIA e-mail: kl.bernhard@aon.at
