Dear colleagues! I would like to send you observations of a new variable star (BeV53), which I have discovered in a systematic CCD-based search for new variables. In each observing run typically 400 images are taken of several survey fields. The frames are processed automatically. Instruments: CCD-camera:Starlight Xpress SX (unfiltered) Telescope: Celestron-8 (20 cm Schmidt-Cassegrain) New variable star: new BeV53 173350.8 +040311.2 (J2000) 12.1 12.4 (CCD) SR comments: BeV53: GSC 422 1097 Comparison star was for all measurements GSC 422 687 (12.5 mag), which was checked to be constant. The apparently slow change in brightness and the red colour (USNO A2.0 r:12.4 mag, b:14.9 mag) suggest a SR-variable. object YYMMDD(UT) mag (CCD) code BeV53 000702.9173 12.37 BRH.BAV BeV53 000706.9187 12.29 BRH.BAV BeV53 000717.8951 12.13 BRH.BAV BeV53 000722.9034 12.13 BRH.BAV BeV53 000731.8923 12.13 BRH.BAV BeV53 000801.8875 12.07 BRH.BAV BeV53 000811.8666 12.19 BRH.BAV BeV53 000812.8715 12.29 BRH.BAV BeV53 000814.8687 12.20 BRH.BAV BeV53 000819.8590 12.33 BRH.BAV Regards, Klaus Bernhard Klaus Bernhard Kafkaweg 5 A-4030 LINZ AUSTRIA e-mail: kl.bernhard@aon.at
