[vsnet-id 287] Re: (fwd) TASV1812+40 and NSV24346

The electronic version of the NSV supplement [NSV 15000+] available via the
Sternberg Astronomical Insititute [see the "other useful servers" link at
www.kusastro.kyoto-u.ac.jp/vsnet for the link] includes a flat ascii cross
identification file.

A simple text search on this file quickly confirms that TASV 1812+40 is NSV
24346.

Back in the mid Liassic, just after the supplement came out, I cobbled
together an article on TA variables in the NSV supplement and presented it
to TA [The Astronomer]. The editor, Guy Hurst, was also in the midst of
doing something similar.

Ostensibly an amalgamated article was to be finally published in the TA,
but whether it has or not I dunno.

Certainly the list of Michael Collins' variables at the TA website [again,
see vsnet links page] still only includes IDs from the original NSV.
Hopefully when the article gets published this'll be updated.

Meanwhile, Taichi Kato's "newvar.cat" file usually covers these sort of
things well enough, and is available under the vsnet ftp site in a
subdirectory of the "others" subdirectory".

Cheers
