When I discover MisV1007 as one of the new variable star candidates
from unfiltered CCD images taken by Nobuo Ohkura and KenIchi Kadota, I
found that CU Vul is only 70 arcsec from the MisV1007.

CU Vul in my database is:

CU VUL R.A.=19 48 34.60 Decl.=+21 40 08.0 15.0 - < 16.5 mag (P) type:LB Epoch= Period= Sp:C(M7)

I think it is the data in the GCVS rev. 4.

However, there is a 9 mag star near by the position.

I asked Taichi Kato and John Greaves to research catalogs for
identifications of all candidates including this star.

Then John Greaves pointed out the identification CU Vul with a carbon
star CGCS 4490. He also pointed out that CU Vul is GSC 01627 00814 as
well as CGCS 4490 and an IRAS source according to SIMBAD and it looks
to be the 9 mag star, near by MisV1007.

On the other hand, Taichi Kato told me that CU Vul is the following
star:

USNO1050.15323824 194834.695 +213736.46 (2000.0) 13.3 17.9
2MASS 194834.774 +213734.04 (2000.0) 10.204 9.178 8.850
194835.1 +213732 (2000.0) CS4490 15 - 8 VULCU
194834.6 +213736 (2000.0) VULCU * LB 15.0 <16.5 P - - - C(M7) R1/VUL2

So I searched papers on CU Vul using ADS and found that it was
reported in IBVS 4864. The position is R.A. 19 48 35.06, Decl. +21 40
06.3 (J2000) and identified with IRAS 19464+2132. The position shows
that CU Vul is the 9 mag star.

But I did not know the data source of Taichi Kato's information. So I
asked Taichi Kato about the data source of his position. And I did not
write anything on these topics in the discovery report of MisV1007
[vsnet-newvar 581]. I thought I had better wait until I receive a
reply from him.

However, Taichi Kato introduce you the problem of CU Vul in [vsnet-id
273], here I introduce you all the information on CU Vul and MisV1007
researched by John Greaves, Taichi Kato, and me.

Anyway, now I think MisV1007 is not identified with CU Vul, whichever
the position is correct.

P.S.
Is this mail is proper for vsnet-chat, not vsnet-id ?

Best regards,
