Re: [AAVSO-DIS] Managed observing program (Automate!) > Note that the 'vsnet' service prvides lists of stars that are not > well-observed. As Brian noted, VSNET runs services informing the objects which are not observed. The "wanted" lists are usually updated on a daily basis, and new and deleted data are dynamically reflected on the "wanted" database, In many of CVs, 3-day blank is usually considered as a warning. We take 7 days for long-period stars. The lists are vsnet-recent-wanted (CVs) vsnet-mira-wanted (long-period variables) vsnet-constel-wanted-* (constellation-specific "wanted" lists) One can freely (selectively) subscribe to these lists, and a number of observers are doing so. Or one may read them on the VSNET website to get the wanted information (in order to do this, click on "Mail Archive" of the VSNET page, and select browse recent vsnet-digest messages; there are relevant links to vsnet-*-wanted data). The most important aspect of this service is that the presented information includes most recently reported observations. This allows an observer to decide whether there is a lack in the number of observations (visual or CCD), different observers, or of attention. The production process and introduction of new objects are fully automated. Regards, Taichi Kato
