An excellent alternative would be to use a script-type language, such as
awk or perl. A better approach is to modify PIXY itself, since PIXY has
already done cross identifications with GCVS, NSV and other catalogs,
a simple insertion of your "filtering" (in Java) function at the position
just after PIXY makes catalog correlations would work nice. Another advantage
of implementing such a function would be that you can leave a class library
named after you :-), e.g. package pl.onet.pro.reszelski or something like
that.
