[vsnet-chat 5635] R:e MisV1181 = Possible Nova or New Transient Object in 2001

Dear colleagues,

Yuji Nakamura, Suzuka, Mie, Japan, reported MisV1181 (possible nova in
Cepheus in 2001) was not visible on his photo at Sept. 18.677, 2001
(UT) with 200-mm f/4 camera lens and Tri-X film, where GSC 4290-01187,
13.2 mag, was clearly visible. So the possible nova must be fainter
than 13.2 mag.

Maybe the nova bursted out on Sept. 19, 2001, and the peak magnitude
was 12.7 mag.

Maybe the nova was already very red in mid September in 2001, so it
was 12.7 mag on CCD images but much fainter on photos.

Best regards,
