V4641 Sgr period
According to IAUC 7440, Orosz et al. obtained a period of 2.866 +/- 0.043 d
from the radial velocity study on June 2-6. Based on Goranskij's photometry
(vsnet-obs 26925), they suspected an ellipsoidal modulation with a period
of 2.817 d. Though these periods need independent confirmation, I must note
a quite reasonable match with the photometrically determined period of 2.5 d
(by CCD and visual observations by the VSNET members) before the 1999
September event (IBVS 4777). The match is within 10-15% of the suggested
period!
