yes I would be pleased to help solving this.
I have a good idea ( I hope ) and that is that David Bishop add two lines
at the top of the Supernova webb pages which say :
"Please use comparison stars indicated on this picture for magnitude
estimates :"

I used the formula 0.375*Bmag + 0.625*Rmag ( USNO-A1.0)
If this is a good idea, I can make a reference picture for all the Bright
Supernovae
shown on David Bishop's webb pages.
