[vsnet-campaign 434] V550 Cyg superhump detection

V550 Cyg superhump detection

Dear Colleagues,

   From the time-series observation last night, clear superhumps with an
amplitude of ~0.3 mag were detected.  Although the reduction is preliminary,
the inferred period of 0.061 d would place V550 Cyg as one of short-period
SU UMa-type dwarf novae.  Follow-up observations are strongly encouraged
to precisely determine the superhump period.  Let's join the VSNET
Collaboration! and report your progress timely to vsnet-campaign-dn or
vsnet-campaign (when a new announcement is necessary).
