[vsnet-campaign 69] RX J1450.5+6403 spectroscopic period
RX J1450.5+6403 spectroscopic period
As reported by Thorstensen in [vsnet-alert 4848], the spectroscopic
period of the new SU UMa-star, RX J1450.5+6403, is either 0.0588 or 0.0599 d.
By adopting the recent period estimate of 0.0604 d (vsnet-alert 4843,
Vanmunster and Skillman), the period of 0.0588 would yield a fractional
superhump excess of 2.7 %, or 0.8 % for 0.0599 d (less likely?).
I expect the combination of photometric observations reported by D. Nogami
(vsnet-alert 4837) would improve the estimate of the orbital period
and more clarify the nature of the object.
Since the period is one of shortest ones among SU UMa-type dwarf novae,
interesting behavior such as increasing superhumpe period or rebrightening
is expected. The object thus should receive high attention among the VSNET
campaign objects.
The object is reported bright at mv=13.4 by Kinnunen (vsnet-alert 4845)!
