Henden, UCAC1 (vsnet-chat 3932) Arne Henden wrote in [vsnet-chat 3932] as follows: As I promised, I've updated the astrometry in this field using UCAC1. The field photometry file at http://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/sequence/npup00.dat now has improved astrometry (the photometry remains the same). In particular, the nova candidate can be found at: RA (J2000) DEC RA DEC V B-V V-R R-I 114.487000 -25.949680 07:37:56.88 -25:56:58.8 9.090 0.564 0.475 0.758 There is a UCAC1 star at: RA (J2000) DEC mag 07 37 56.882 -25 56 58.85 13.60 So the nova candidate and this star are identical within error (less than 100mas). This is a *very* small magnitude range for a nova.
