Dear colleagues,
We (Kazuya Ayani, Bisei Astromonical Observatory, Okayama, Japan, and
Hideyo Kawakita, Nara, Japan) have obtained the spectra of SN1995al on
Nov. 4.77UT with the spectrograph mounted on the 1.0-m telescope of
Bisei Astronomical Observatory. The 20-min exposure spectrum covers
the wavelength range of 380-730 nm with the resolution of 1.3nm.
Absorption features of SiII 635.5nm, SII 545.4nm, MgII 448.1nm, and
complex absorptions of SiII and SII short of 500nm are clearly seen.
Balmer lines are absent, and SiII 597.2nm absorption line is still
weak, which indicate that this is type I supernova in the maximum
phase. We note that this spectrum resembles that of SN1981B in the
maximum phase (Branch et al. 1983, ApJ 270, 173).
The SiII 6355 absoption line is blueshifted with respect to the galaxy
(NGC 3021, V=1500 km/s) by 14000 km/s and has the FWHM of 6900 km/s.
