For the relatively blue stars that comprise the typical eclipsers
(B,A,F,G stars), I would try to adjust the magnitude zero-point to
Cousins R using observations of either local comparison stars with
standard magnitudes, or by observing a few standard fields (Landolt, M67
etc.) where R magnitudes are well-established.
