It's useful in many such cases to have a look at my large photometric
reference file:
http://ftp.lowell.edu/pub/bas/starcats/loneos.phot
...where near DV Pup you can find a bunch of stars that might be useful.
Some are:
Name RA (2000) Dec GSC V B-V
LF12 39 7 39 42.8 -26 28 03 6547-2012 10.37 1.13
LF12 43 7 40 13.2 -26 35 57 6547-2182 11.45 0.08
LF12 44 7 40 32.4 -26 53 41 6548-3449 11.67 1.18
LF12 12 7 36 38.4 -26 05 11 6543-3321 12.19 0.45
LF12 13 7 36 50.1 -26 07 40 6543-3227 12.26 0.11
These are selected from:
1970AJ.....75..324W
WOODEN W.A.
Astron. J., 75, 324-336 (1970)
UBV photoelectric photometry in four southern Milky Way fields.
...which is available via ADS. This paper includes 1950 coordinates for the
stars, and should have some a bit fainter than those above (I think I selected
Wooden stars having multiple observations only, some of the faint guys have
only one, but probably okay for visual use).
