I checked the FASTT database, and we have not observed
the field that includes EV Aqr as part of the SDSS
calibration zones.  I also checked the TASS database.
They *have* observed this region, but don't list the
red star as one of their 'good' stars (at least
10 measures).  It would have been nice if the star
were included in the TASS database, as they observe
in reasonably well calibrated V and I.
  I think the solution to the puzzle is going to have
to come from the early literature, as Morel has
suggested.  Perhaps Patrick's correspondence will
clear the air!
