G'day all,
Earlier tonight I did a viewing session for one of the
local primary schools; with an audience of 9-10 year old
children. Nova Vel generated considerable excitement when
I pointed it out and told them it was among the brightest of
novae. After I gave their teachers a finder chart it's
now become a class project to watch it fade and disappear.
However, some of them are convinced that their teachers
arranged for the nova to explode as part of our National
Science Week!
cheers,
Fraser Farrell
