[vsnet-chat 644] Re: RU Cam

On RU Cam variation, I have noticed a long-term photometric study
by Z. Kollath and B. Szeidl 1993 (As. Ap. 277, 62), which gives an
excellent V-band light curve covering between JD 2439000 and 2443600.
This light curve, covering the period after the report of cessation of
pulsation by Demers and Fernie (1966). This light curve clearly
demonstrates the star pulsated with variable amplitudes: variation was
at times up to 0.5 mag, but at other times the amplitude was virtually
zero. It is not clear whether this trend continues up to now, since
this sequence of observation ended in the 1970's, but the indicated
behavior seems to agree with Gary Poyner's description. These authors
also analyzed the old (the 1920's) visual observations, and suggested
from prewhitened power spectrum that some irregularity of a similar
nature was already present even in the 1920's. The most spectacular
change was, according to their study, the cessation of the regular
pulsation component.

The most recently published photoelectric photometry by Berdnikov
and Voziakova 1995 (IBVS 4154) indicates the presence of 0.3 mag pulsation
in 1994 September - October.

I have also searched some old literatures (mostly in A.N.), among
which I found a report by Ichinohe, who made the very first RU Cam
observations of the VSOLJ record which I mentioned earlier.
