Hipparcos actually reported variation of 0.20 mag (HIP 035681). The
Hipparcos Catalogue classifies the variable as periodic (P) based on the
Hipparcos data only, so the pulsation seems to have recovered anyway.
If the amplitude is growing again, this star should be worth on visual
observer's target list again.

Quite interestingly, one of our VSOLJ members just quite recently
analyzed the VSOLJ archive to see how the amplitude decreased. His analysis
clearly showed RU Cam pulsated quite strongly in 1907-1911, with an amplitude
as large as ~1.6 mag. Later observations also clearly showed the decrease
in amplitude. I hope he will publish the analysis in the VSOLJ Bulletin,
and forward its copy to this vsnet-chat.
