It is a wonder that no one from AAVSO has spoken up about our records on Mira.
It is one of the stars in the book by Leon Campbell on light curves and maxima
of long period variable stars. The earliest maxima of Mira in that volume go
back to JD 2422822, over 130 years ago. AAVSO has a database of individual
observations on Mira in electronically accessible form from then to now.
