Observations of Mira from the BAAVSS database;
The thread about the visibility of Mira near conjuction spurred some
intensive work by Phil Barnard and myself to get the last dozen years
of British records completed, including Memoirs 1925 to 1934.
However, rather than providing Northern visibility data alone, the two
observations from the appended table closest to conjunction are by
Southern observers;
latest... 1913 Apr 15 C J Westland
earliest... 1932 May 11 R C Shinkfield
Giving a possible minimum gap of 26 days - presumably a bright maximum at
conjunction would help.
A 'pixel' light-curve of 14275 observations (1905 to 1997) has been placed
on the BAAVSS home pages; http://vsnet.telf-ast.demon.co.uk/
