V1141 Aql: superhump period variation Dear Colleagues, The VSNET Collaboration members (Nogami-san at Hida Observatory, Tom Krajci and Sano-san) obtained a coverage of 3 days. During the first night, the superhump period was appreciably longer (0.062 d), and then stablized to a shorter period (present mean period 0.05942 d). The evolution of the superhump period looked like rather discontinuous. This observation presents the first secure detection of the superhump period change in V1141 Aql (the early presence of a long superhump period would pose an interesting theoretical problem). Let's see (after your V699 Oph runs) how the superhumps in V1141 Aql evolve -- period increase as expected from the superhump period, or a "canonical" decrease? Regards, Taichi Kato VSNET Collaboration team
