V699 Oph: possible superhump signal during the precursor period Dear Colleagues, We have further analyzed the precursor phase (June 22-25). With the present knowledge of the true superhump period, there seems to be a weak (about 0.05 mag) superhump signal during this phase. Althought the analysis is still very preliminary, the dominant period was close to, but slightly different from, the superhump period. The mean profile was singly peaked, in contrast to WZ Sge-type early superhumps. The present behavior resembles that of the 1993 superoutburst (accompanied by a precursor) of T Leo (Kato 1997, PASJ 49, 583). The weaker superhump signal in the V699 Oph precursor may be phenomenologically related to the longer interval between the precursor and the main superoutburst.
