Hello Kato,
I have read your message about report format. You are right it is a problem
that different observers and organisation use different formats. But I
think, it will probably be very difficult to convince all observers and
organisations to use a common format.
I use an AAVSO developed program for entering my observations (250-600 pr.
month). AAVSO does'nt use UTC, but instead Julian Day. I also contribute
with some observations to Gary Poyners recurrent objects programme, but he
uses UTC and not JD. I had to write a program that converts my reports in
AAVSO format to a format that Gary Poyner can use.
When I send observations to you in the future I will try to convert them
manually to your format.
It will not be a problem because I only send a few selected observations.
I don't know if you read the AAVSO Circular. It has surprised me that the
japanese don't contribute to this publication. Of course you have your own
cataclysmic variables circular, but only those on e-mail get this.
Thank for forwarding the message from Veikko Makela. It seems that a e-mail
problem prevents me from receiving messages from the varstars list. I am
trying to find and solve the problems.
Regards
Lasse
