Subject: Re: 3rd radio event in XTE J1859+226

In the above paragraph I gave the local date. The time of VLA observation
was Oct. 30.0 UT.

In addition, this event was detected by the GBI where one can see an
average of 35 and 23 mJy for 2.25 and 8.3 GHz on Oct. 30.0 UT, whereas the
normal average Rayleigh noise bias is about 10 and 15 mJy. Subtracting that
bias level this means the GBI saw it at about 25 and 8 mJy at 2.25 and
8.3 GHz, which is consistent with the 7 mJy seen with the VLA at 8.46 GHz
at about the same time.

This confirms that the GBI data, which one can see in plot form at

(if you have a Java-enabled browser) can be used to see and follow
the stronger radio events in XTE J1859+226. The GBI detected the
110 mJy state on Oct. 17 and now has detected a ~ 25 mJy state on
Oct. 30 UT. Every day the GBI samples this source five times over a
span of four hours.
