[vsnet-unknown 19] re EE And...
As already noted in vsnet-unknown 18 DZ And was "discovered" in Cragg,
T, PASP 73, 453-455, (1961) [fully available at ADS], where it was
described as "C1 And", whilst a TU And sequence was being made.
Another star was also in this field, called "C2 And", and a chart is
given on page 454 of that article marking not only the positions of C1
and C2 but also of TU And. It is probably no surprise that C2 appears
to be EE And, though no bibliographic link for this star to this article
is given via either CDS or ADS. Especially noteworthy is the fact that
EE And is "next" after DZ And when it comes to the vagaries of variable
star nomenclature (ie, ..., DY And, DZ And, EE And, EF And, ... is the
sequence of naming).
Neither AFOEV nor VSOLJ databases seem to hold much observational data
on this star, neither is it available online via AAVSO data request. It
appears to be of 2 to 3 mags amplitude though.
[Interestingly, another star mentioned in the article, C1 Psc, in the
field of X Psc, on page 455 in fig 2 appears to be UX Psc, which turned
out to be a quasar, but I'm not sure if it actually shows visual
variability].
