In the July 2002 issue of the AJ, Nesci et al. provide a BVRI photometric sequence for the variable BL Lac galaxy S5 1803+78 = IRAS 18036+7827 (18 00 45.68 +78 28 04.0 [2000]). Below I show USNO-A2.0 coordinates for the stars along with V and BVRI colors (Nesci et al. show separate magnitudes). The internal consistency of the colors is good, and suggests the photometry is reliable at the few-percent level. \Brian --------------------------- source: 2002AJ....124...53N Name RA (2000) Dec GSC V B-V V-R V-I S5 1803+78 A 18 01 37.43 +78 26 58.4 4574-0480 14.54 0.85 0.48 0.92 S5 1803+78 B 18 01 38.22 +78 29 27.9 4574-0834 15.30 0.67 0.38 0.77 S5 1803+78 C 18 00 33.90 +78 28 33.9 15.73 0.64 0.37 0.76 S5 1803+78 D 18 00 28.61 +78 28 08.1 16.58 0.50 1.01 S5 1803+78 E 18 00 23.66 +78 29 50.0 16.49 0.39 0.79
