[vsnet-newvar 1871] CSS 401 is a probable Mira variable

Checking Stardial images (http://vsnet.astro.uiuc.edu/stardial/) for the
galactic S star CSS 401 (Stephenson 1984), I found this star to be a
probable Mira variable with a period of 293 days. The amplitude is
around 2 magnitudes in unfiltered light, the magnitude in maximum
varies by about 0.5 mag. Epoch of maximum: JD 2451491. B-R=2.6 from
USNO-B1.0.
Using VizieR I could find the following identifications:

USNO-A2.0 0825-05552813
GSC 04836-01821
USNO-B1.O 0874-0221669
IRAS 07454-0228
CMT 074800.8-023540
GSC 2.2 S1021311534

Image reduction has been done using the XVista programs written by
Michael Richmond, who is gratefully acknowledged.
