LMC V2434 is also 1UCAC 1390649 : RA: 5h24m01.61s dec: -71d 09' 34.5" (Mean epoch: 1998.772 [of 2 observations]; equinox J2000) Proper motion in RA: 11.0 +/- 10.9 milliarcseconds/year Proper motion in dec: 71.3 +/- 10.9 milliarcseconds/year UCAC-CCD-RED magnitude 12.42 Note that this position is very close to that given by 2MASS, with both being about an arcsec north of the GSC one. The version of GSC used wasn't quoted, but if the 1987.064 position is taken as the epoch (as per GSC-ACT I believe) the above proper motion in dec gives about 14 years for an arcsec to be traversed, whereas the 1998 epochs of the 2MASS and UCAC1 positions are about 11.5 years following the GSC one, which is around the right area.
