     Dear colleagues!

I would like to send you observations of a new variable star (QU 02), which I 
have discovered. Initially the new variable was used among others as a check 
star for the W UMa-variable V979 Cygni. An unfiltered CCD-camera ST-7E was 
used for all observations. . 

 Instruments:
 CCD-camera: ST-7E (unfiltered), exposure time: 1 minute
 Telescope: Vixen VC200L (20 cm Cassegrain), f/6.4
 
New variable star:
new QU 02:  194553.3 +321334  (J2000) 

comments:
QU 02: USNO2 no.:1200-13260014, red 14.4 mag,  blue 18.8 mag
Comparison stars were (USNO coordinates) #1: 194553 +321139.9, red:12.8, blue 
13.7;
#2: 194609.3 +321058.6, red 13.9, blue 16.0. Their difference was checked to 
be constant with an rms error +-0.04 mag. The magnitudes adopted for the 
variable are calculated from its daily mean difference against the mean of 
the red magnitudes of the comparison stars. They  are then rounded to 0.1 
mag. The slow change in brightness and the red colour of the new variable 
suggest a SR- or a Mira variable.
