[vsnet-lpv 44] Re: [CCD-astrometry-photometry] Re: QX Pup
Please excuse one last post. I've placed on
http://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/temp/m46i.jpg
a *very* poor I-band image taken of the bipolar nebulae
around QX Pup, with the 1.0-m in 1994. We were testing
a new 2kx2k camera and had not focussed the system yet,
so please excuse both the donut-focus and the poor seeing.
However, the point to be made is that the southwest lobe
is very bright at I-band, and so is the most likely object
that Nachshony would have imaged. The equivalent V-band
image is at
http://ftp.nofs.navy.mil/pub/outgoing/aah/temp/m46v.jpg
and you can see the nebulae almost disappears.
