[vsnet-id 875] LMC RCB stars



     In a paper on LMC RCB stars, Alcock et al. (2001ApJ...554..298A), give
spectra and lightcurves for a number of these variables.  I was somewhat
puzzled to find that the coordinates, nominally from MACHO are rather poor,
often several arcsec in error.  Luckily there are finder charts for most of
the stars.  All are identified below with 2MASS or UCAC1 positions; some stars
are given with approximate/semi-accurate positions in SIMBAD.  I also
looked up each star in VizieR and in SIMBAD to look for IDs.  Besides the
GCVS names, which are not in SIMBAD, several had IDs with previous work.
The V magnitudes are as listed in Table 3 of the paper for maximum brightness
of each star.
