[vsnet-id 858] TU Aql identification

I would like to suggest that the Mira TU Aql has been sometimes
misidentified heretofore, mainly in classical astrometric catalogues.
Comparison of visible-light and 2MASS images makes it clear that the
variable is the southern star of a 10" pair. It appears that the northern
component is usually assigned in error to the variable. This star is however,
not red, and the Tycho-2 color and proper motion in fact suggest a G dwarf.
     The IDs are as follows:

BD+01 4003 = AG+01 2292 = PPM 167889 = CCDM J19276+0203A
           = HIC 95672 = HIP 95672
           19 27 36.31 +02 03 20.2 (J2000, Tycho-2) V=10.8

TU Aql = HV 3216 = AN 13.1910 = IRAS 19250+0156 = GCRV 69452 = IRC +00433
       = CCDM J19276+0203B = AAVSO 1922+01
       19 27 36.35 +02 03 10.8 (J2000, GSC-2.2)

Note especially that the variable is not a BD star nor the Hipparcos
object (apparently missing from the Hipparcos catalogue, though targeted).
In the SIMBAD header, the proper motion applies to the companion G star,
but the radial velocity is for the Mira. All the biblio applies to the
red star (presumably including 2001BaltA..10..589A).
The on-line GCVS has things correct, though it does make the ID with
BD+01 4003. The position there is only slightly off.

\Brian
