In fact, the "accurate" coordinates for BE Ara appeared at the GCVS site only several days ago, following the arrival of an unpublished finding chart from Harvard Observatory; such charts are based upon discoverer's sketches and/or ink marks left on plates and are extremely helpful for our work. In this particular case, however, it appears that the Harvard chart shows a wrong star (the following star of two). The star suggested by Dr. Yamaoka clearly varies in Aladin and has a V-R "color index" of 4.7 mag in the GSC2.2 catalog, so the identification seems beyond doubt. Nevertheless, I would ask Martha Hazen to check Harvard stacks again. Best regards N. Samus
