Dear colleagues,

We are most grateful to Dr. Yamaoka for this remark. In fact, the
"accurate" coordinates for BE Ara appeared at the GCVS site only several
days ago, following the arrival of an unpublished finding chart from
Harvard Observatory; such charts are based upon discoverer's sketches
and/or ink marks left on plates and are extremely helpful for our work. In
this particular case, however, it appears that the Harvard chart shows a
wrong star (the following star of two). The star suggested by Dr. Yamaoka
clearly varies in Aladin and has a V-R "color index" of 4.7 mag in the
GSC2.2 catalog, so the identification seems beyond doubt. Nevertheless, I
would ask Martha Hazen to check Harvard stacks again.
