[vsnet-id 684] BIS red stars



     Here are improved coordinates and complete identifications for more
Byurakan red stars.  These come from three recently published lists, and
are given in SIMBAD with the acronym 'BIS'.  In general these are present
in SIMBAD without external linkages made.  The original coordinates vary in
quality from being within a few arcsec to those that are an arcminute off.
A few have some larger error, since there is no corresponding star in the sky
at the nominal location.
     More than half the stars are not new, having been reported as M-type
in the Dearborn catalogue 60 years ago.  I matched the corrected list
against several other useful catalogues as shown below.  Since the search was
done on 12-micron IRAS sources, I omit these from the table.  One errant
IRAS source is given in the notes at the bottom.
     When Mickaelian & Gigoyan omit a magnitude, I have added an approximate
value from sources such as Tycho.  I give the Dearborn spectral types along
with DO numbers since many of the Byurakan types are simply 'M'.  Note that
the Dearborn types tend to be systematically too late by about one step,
e.g. Dearborn type M4 corresponds most commonly to MK type about M3.
     Most of the BD names are missing from SIMBAD.  Only a few of the stars
have variable-star designations, which I show mainly so the list is
self-contained.
