Coordinates and identifications for Byurakan red stars, list 12
version:  4 Aug 2002

     The list below shows revisions to the coordinates and additional IDs
for list 12 of the Byurakan red stars in the zone -3 to +1 Dec.
     Unlike the previous ones, the coordinates in this list were not in need
of much improvement, and only one or two were significantly in error.  Only
a few IRAS links were overlooked.
     I matched the corrected list in VizieR against Tycho-2, GSC-ACT, IRAS
point- and faint-source catalogues, MSX, Dearborn, and GCVS v4.1.  Every star
was searched with a 3' radius in SIMBAD to find additional IDs.  The notes
include the original comments; some entries have my comments added at
the front (all the external IDs given are new).
     Using photometric data from the TASS MkIII survey (2000PASP..112..397R,
II/230), I have added two columns showing V and V-I to 0.1-mag. precision
for stars with a close match in position (~5").  The data are nearly complete
in this zone apart from a few faint stars.  These help confirm the very-red
nature of the stars.  
     Some of the stars are not especially red, and the spectral types cannot be
as late as indicated.  This is likely to be the case when there is no IRAS or
MSX detection.

Notes
0002+004   DO 1 (M6).
0026-001   Faint low-dispersion objective-prism spectrum at the edge of the FBS
           plate; star of probable R subtype.
0319+003   From the FBS plate this object is estimated as V ~12.0-13.0. 
           Obviously a variable M star.
0515-009   not red (J-K=0.9).
0810+001   V ~13.0-13.5. Absorption bands of TiO molecules are very well
           visible.
0813-017   NSV 3966.  V ~14.0-14.5. This star is on the edge on the Palomar
           Atlas O chart.  Obviously a variable M star.
0954-023   FBS position error.  In the digitized APS (http://isis.spa.umn.edu/)
           database the following data are presented for this star: m(E)=13.3
           and m(O)=18.28. There is probably a dense gas-dust shell around this
           object.
1021-024   DO 2933 (M3) = MSX5C G247.0979+43.5771.
1032-000   S Sex = DO 2965 (M5) = MSX5C G247.2384+47.2223.
1138-000   V ~14.0-14.5. In the digitized APS database this object is 
           erronously classified as a galaxy.
1145-000   A star of early R subtype.
1552-002   Judging from the color index, the object can be assumed to be a
           star of early R subtype.
1601-009   _not_ IRAS 16013-0057 (galaxy).
2053-022   The APS classification is erronously given as a galaxy.
2120+005   DO 7345 (M3).
2217-009   A star of early R subtype.
