[vsnet-id 542] Welin H-alpha stars near NGC 7000



    Below is a list of precise coordinates and identifications for 141 stars
showing H-alpha emission in the region of the North America Nebula found by
Welin (1973A&AS....9..183W).  All the stars appear in SIMBAD, but mostly with
approximate coordinates and few identifications.  Most also appear in the
GCVS/NSV with a mix of accurate and approximate positions.
     I have used Welin's finder charts to first identify all the stars in
either the GSC or USNO-A2.0.  More accurate positions were then sought as
available in other catalogues using the Strasbourg VizieR utility.  The final
list was matched against the GCVS/NSV/NSVS with VizieR using a 3-arcminute
search radius.  The star positions were also searched individually in SIMBAD
for additional identifications.  Note that some of the BSD names appear in
SIMBAD but without coordinates.
     The table shows names, coordinates, and principal IDs in a self-evident
format.  The last three columns show rough B and V magnitudes and (similarly
rough) spectral types, all from Welin's paper.  These are useful only if there
is nothing better available.  Additional IDs given by Welin and found in SIMBAD
are given in the notes.  GCVS and HD/BD names are always shown, but other names
are omitted as long as they are present and correctly linked in a single entry
in SIMBAD.  Because the region was largely missed by IRAS, I show MSX names
as available.
     N.B. that the area is partly covered by GSC 'small region' 3588, which
is the only such region in the whole sky that contains serial numbers >9999.
I have shown the full five-digit serial numbers for those few that are
recoverable, but some may be missing (the ten-thousands digit remains zero in
the original GSC data).  An example is star 138 = GSC 3588-11669.
