or tent to set them up in the area of the hotel for about 6 DEM/days.

Scientific goals: The main aim of the meeting is to collect the professional
and amateur astronomers working in the field of photoelectric photo-
metry of variable stars. We would like to give a general review of
the recent results of the variable star photometry - with a special
interest of those ones which partly or mostly based upon amateur ob-
servations. We also welcome speakers about the present situation and
the possible developments of the national or private observatories of
the region which have photoelectric observing projects. As there are
strong efforts to establish automatic telescopes and world-wide ob-
serving networks of such (or traditional) telescopes, we wait also for
       discussions of this problem.

Preliminary Program:

       April 29, 1994 (Friday):

-recent activity of Hungarian and certain European amateur
variable star observer's working groups (BAV, BBSAG, ...)
especially in the sense of photoelectric photometry
-status report of different amateur observing projects

perspectives of the traditional photoelectric photometry
                 -instrumentation, technical developments
         afternoon session (chairman: Hegedus, T.)
-most recent scientific results of photoelectric photo-
                  metry of variable stars
                 -observing projects, international cooperations, joint
                  projects
                 -poster presentation, closing
evening: departure of most part the Hungarian participants
                 -visitation in the Baja Observatory
       May 2 (Monday):
         morning: departure of the foreigners

Considering that this traditional meeting has always been mainly
national one, here we present only the names of the Hungarian and
those foreign astronomers who has already sent their contribution.
The official language of the meeting will be English. Of course we
have several colleagues who can help in the translation if anybody
       needs.

Invited (and review) speakers:
       - Dr. Szeidl, B., director, Konkoly Observatory, Budapest
       - Dr. Karetnikov, V. G., director, Odessa Astronomical Observatory
       - Dr. Andronov, I., Odessa Astronomical Observatory, Odessa
       - Dr. Kovacs, G., Konkoly Observatory, Budapest
       - Dr. Olah, K., Konkoly Observatory, Budapest
       - Dr. Szabados, L. Konkoly Observatory, Budapest
They give the skeleton of the Saturday afternoon & Sunday session.

Every additional lectures and posters will be welcome belonging to
the above outlined areas. The short abstracts and titles should be
sent to the President of the Scientific Organizing Committe. We
would like to print the proceedings of this meeting in the IAPPP Com-
munications, and also in a form of a small booklet for every partici-
pants. Thus, we would like to ask our future lecturers to send the
Title and the Abstract of their contributions in the form of an ASCII
file (via E-mail, if it has no figures) or in camera-ready printed
form (processed with any of the standard word-processors: ChiWriter,
MS Word, TEX, WordPerfect, etc. and printed by laser printers or ink
jet printers in good quality). Also there is a new possiblity: one
can upload his camera-ready pages onto the IAPPP area of our ASTROBASE
BBS in ARJ-compressed minimum 300 dpi resolution TIF or PCX format
file. All of these requests are valid for the posters, too. Deadline
of the arrival of such materials is March 15, 1994.
The completed, prepared posters can be either sent by normal mail or
brought by the authors themselves, personally.
The posters will be accepted arranged on A/2 or A/1 format cardboard.
Only the approval of the intention of the participation on the meeting,
and the preliminary title of the planned contribution can be sent via
fax, too. However, the final title, and the completed abstract should
be sent only via E-mail, or air mail in camera ready form. Other ma-
terial can hardly be taken into account.
