Subject: New Variable Stars Designated in 1992
LIST OF VARIABLE STARS FINALLY DESIGNATED IN 1992
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
This list is extracted from Kazarovetz et al. (1993). We have included
variables with maximum magnitudes of 13.5 or brighter and amplitudes of
0.20 magnitudes or more. These objects may be suitable for visual and
photoelectric photometry using smaller telescopes. Only stars with measure-
ments in the following magnitude systems have been considered: b, B, P, R,
v and V. These systems have spectral responses that mainly fall within the
visual (or near infrared) part of the spectrum.
Coordinates have been precessed to the equinox 2000.0. The types of varia-
bility are according the GCVS classification (Kholopov et al. 1985). Other
names and designations are given under the notes column.
In 1992 438 new variables were finally designated and the total number has
reached 30702.
