Subject: [vsnet-chat 5037] OGLE variables

I think this has been discussed before, but it might
be worth repeating.  What are the general 'rules of thumb'
for the awarding of a variable star name to a new
discovery, instead of putting it in the 'suspected variables'
category?  Can these rules be followed in the current
environment of large-scale surveys?
