[vsnet-const 21] V449 _original_ reference

Discovery of variability and original 38.8d period came from Voe, J,
AN 264, 311 (1937), and was apparently confirmed in visual light by some
other observer, as noted in the same place. [That's Vo{u^}te]

However, I've no access to this, it is not online: someone will have to
look it up the old fashioned way!

This is going to have to be read to see what was going on!

Online stuff includes a spectographic study that could not confirm
orbital motion in:

[all one line, all one URL]

whilst in:

[all one line, all one URL]

we find that V449 Sco in its incarnation as HD 159595 was apparently
used as a _comparison_ star for photometric studies of V701 Sco!!! This
latter has a period of less than a day. Although these authors found
this star to be a constant comparator, they were only doing single night
runs versus V701 Sco.

The Astronomische Nachrichten article needs finding, and assessing hard!

Cheers

John
