        http://www.astro.isas.ac.jp/conference/bh2003/
The registration fee is 10,000 yen (about 80 US-dollars). Students can
have a discount; 5,000 yen (about 40 US-dollars). The registration fee
includes coffee/tea service during the workshop and one copy of the
proceedings. Please note that the conference banquet fee is NOT included
and will be separatedly requested (see below).
All the participants should pay the fee at the registration desk by cash
(Japanese yen only). Sorry, credit cards are not accepted.

-------------
Cancellation
-------------
If you wish to cancel your registration due to some reason, please send
     an email to
                    minesige@yukawa.kyoto-u.ac.jp

-----------------------------------------
Access to Kyoto and the Conference Venue
-----------------------------------------
*Access to Kyoto from Kansai International Airport (KIX)

The international airport nearest to Kyoto is Kansai International
    Airport (KIX) (http://www.kansai-airport.or.jp/english/index.htm).
There are several ways to get to Kyoto from KIX. You can see
convenient information about the access at
    http://www2.yukawa.kyoto-u.ac.jp/‾yitpic/kyodo/yitp.html.

The simplest way to get to Kyoto from KIX is by train. Take the
Limited Express "HARUKA" of the JR Kansai Airport Line
    (http://www.kansai-airport.or.jp/english/access/jrwest.htm). The fare
is 2980 yen for a non-reserved seat and 3490 yen for a reserved seat.
It takes about 75 minutes to arrive at the JR Kyoto Station.

There is the Airport Limousine bus for the JR Kyoto Station
    (http://www.kansai-airport.or.jp/english/access/bus.htm). It
takes approximately 100 minutes, but it depends on traffic.
    The fare is 2300 yen.

You can also use a shared taxi
    (http://www.mk-group.co.jp/english/kix/shuttle.html). If
you use the shared taxi, YOU NEED TO MAKE A RESERVATION
THROUGH THE WEB IN ADVANCE. A reservation at least two days
before your arrival at KIX is recommended. The shared taxi
is the most convenient because it takes you directly to your
hotel. However you have to keep in mind that it may take up
to 2-3 hours, because it requires time for dropping off
passengers (or picking up when going to the airport) and
that the schedule might be delayed by a traffic jam.
Therefore you should leave early enough especially for your
return trip to reduce the risk of being late for your
    airplane. It costs 3500 yen.

*Access to Kyoto International Community House

The conference venue is Kyoto International Community House
    (http://www.kcif.or.jp/en/footer/02.html#). The access depends on
where you stay, but in general you can get to the venue by subway or
bus. Please visit http://www.kcif.or.jp/en/footer/05.html to see the
    access information.

-------
Weather
-------
Weather in October will generally be fine in Kyoto, but we occasionally
have rain. The average temperature of the day will be around 13-18 degree
in Celsius in the second half of October. Please visit
    http://www.cnn.com/WEATHER/as/Japan/TokyoTokyoRJ48.html
for 5 days forecast in Tokyo area (which is not much different in Kyoto).

-------------------
Oral/Poster Papers
-------------------
Oral papers will be selected by the SOC. In addition, poster papers
will also be selected, since there have been many poster applications.
Because of limited time and poster space, we cannot accept requests
for oral and poster presentations which were made after September 1.
The results of selection will be notified to authors no later than
    the end of September, 2003.

------------------
Presentation Tools
------------------
Regular OHP projectors and LCD projectors for the presentation by
    laptop computers are available.

-------------
Poster Board
-------------
The size of a poster board is 210cm (height) x 90cm (width).

-------------------
Internet Connection
-------------------
5 computers are available for the Internet connection.
Windows OS, web browser and SSH secure shell are installed.
To connect your own laptop to the Internet, a wireless network
(IEEE802.11b) is also available. Please ask Dr. Kubo, LOC,
for assistance at the conference site.

--------
AC power
--------
The AC power available in Kyoto is 100V 60Hz. The plug shape is 2-pin
that is similar to the US standard except for no ground pin.

--------
Banquet
--------
The conference banquet will be held on the third day (October 30)
at Kyoto Royal Hotel (about 25 minutes from the conference site).
All the participants who wish to attend the banquet should inform
us at the time of web-registration. The banquet fee is 10,000 yen
and will be separately requested (in addition to the registration fee)
at the registration desk. We will only accept Japanese yen. Credit
    cards will not be accepted.

------------------
Financial support
------------------
Sorry, no more support is available. Those who are promised to get
support should have been contacted by the LOC. If not, please send
    an email to the LOC.

----
VISA
----
Depending on your nationality, you may be required to obtain a VISA
to enter Japan. Please check by yourself at
         http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/index.html
if this applies to you or not. If a VISA is required, please make
contact with the nearest Japanese Embassy/consulate general as soon as
possible and also inform us required documents by e-mail:
        minesige@yukawa.kyoto-u.ac.jp
It is very important to fix your travel plan. Otherwise we will not
be able to issue necessary documents for visa application.
