   This statement can cause a misunderstanding.  Please have a look at
e.g. vsnet-chat 5344, which relayed your call for obvervation.
You were subsrcibed to this list (not many) in order to allow your postings.
We usually keep these information senders on the relevant lists, which is
a quite natural list-maintaining policy.  In processing administrative
requests, we usually apply some sort of delay (variable depending on the
list nature) before finally confirming whether the request is a valid one.
This rule has been also used to avoid an instataneous subscription,
message posting, and unsubscription, as in some spam postings.  This is
why we don't use automatic Majordomo processing.

   People who have been unsuccessful in unsubscribing to some specific
list may have sent a request to a wrong address (such as owner-vsnet-xxx);
postings to these addresses (mostly spams and simple errors) are usually
automatically discarded.
