[vsnet-chat 5506] V838 Mon Images

This week I imaged V838 Mon in V and Ic bands.  The URL's for the images are below.  I found it very interesting that the central nova was not visible in the V band image and obvious in the Ic image.  The V band image only contained the light echo.  The measured diameter of the echo was 55.7" +/- 3" on 09/09/2002.  The compares quite well with Arne Henden's measurement of a radius of ~ 30" on 08/29/2002 [vsnet-campaign-v838mon 376].
