FWIW, all of the AAVSO perl scripts have been using this since about 1999.
I corresponded a bit with the author and he was very kind. I didn't know
of this web site. I was using the CPAN copy, which was quite old. His
Astro library also does other things automagically such as coordinate
conversion (useful for the GRB Network!) and sidereal conversion...
