Hi ,
Its a lot of different variable cats like this and more somtimes i think i find a new cat or list evry week
; BnV Bengtsson Variable
;BV Bamberg Variable
;GR G. Romano
; HadV Haseda Variable
; HBV Hamburg-Bergedorf Variable
;HV Harvard Variable
;LD L. Dahlmark
;MisV MISAO
;S Sonneberg
;SVS Soviet Variable Star
;TASS The Amateur Sky Survey
;TASV The Astronomer Suspected Variable
;TAV The Astronomer Variable
;TmzV Takamizawa Variable
;VV Vatican Variable
;Wr Weber
This is only a few i have not count them all
And I think this is great......but why cant the creators use a standard form for the cats??
And why cant the star still have its existing name from USNO or GSC cat??
Why not a form like this:
"Epoch USNO/GSC hh mm ss +- dd mm ss magn/max min period " and so on and finished with a REM column
Or why not use the standard of GCVS with a remarks, still keeping an existing star name and under REM the cat creator can put the MisV0001 or LD22 ,HadV 10000 etc.
Or at list if they must have a own star name like S2145 please use a standard form for building the cat.
I want to put this cats in to my astro software, some can edit this cat very well, some software don't and its a hell to manual edit all this different.
What do you other user thing, and what do you cat creators say.
Regards
Hans-Goran Lindberg
