Some planetarium-like packages have a useful feature, they are able to
import almost every external database, plotting it on the sky. Doing so,
you can enter the equinox and the soft will take care to adjust the
position to the current date (neglecting the proper motion). So, if your
soft comes with an old file archive, you can check if it supports this
importing feature, look for an updated list and with few mouse clicks
you will have up-to-date data at your fingers.
