This was not a problem of an AAVSO chart. The situation was somewhat
similar to Toni's case. Since star chart programs became popular, some
observers draw their own chart with such a program. I suspect some of
persistent (presumable) errors come from such charts...
And what is worse is that many of authors (in our country) of popular
magazines or circulars are often only too busy to check the correctness
of their charts or statements. New charts with errors are being monthly
produced one by one on commercial basis -- I understand magazine editors
request (either explicitly or implicitly) "new" materials rather than
a reproduction of existing charts. The number of different charts
is steadily increasing as people work harder.
